The actual cherries are the thickener in this recipe, so I don’t think you’ll need anything else.

We don’t have fresh cherries yet – but just found a bag of frozen. I am wondering after listening to your presentation with Chef AJ if it would be better to use part yogurt (beans, cauliflower, okara) in place of some of the milk for a super creamy finish?

I made a preview batch of this, with only a few substitutions, and it was delicious! My 18 month grandson was saying, “More, peez, Mommy; Mommy, Perez!” Needless to say, we polished off that 3cup pint in no time. I used frozen cherries because that’s what I had. And date paste because I had some in my fridge that needed to be used. Thank you so much, Kathy!!
